EU officials visit projects promoting tourism in Ukraine
10-06-2009The head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Manuel Pinto Teixeira, together with other EU Ambassadors and officials visited two EU-funded projects: “Bikeland” and “Transfrontier Tourism Development and Promotion Network”.
The “Bikeland” programme in Yaremche, Ivano-Frankivsk region, is implemented by the Carpathian National Nature Park together with a partner organization in Romania and several local NGOs in the framework of the Romania-Moldova-Ukraine Cross-Border co-operation Programme. It aims to attract Ukrainian and foreign tourists towards ecologically safe, accessible and active recreation in the Carpathian region.
The “Transfrontier Tourism Development and Promotion Network”, also part of the Romania-Moldova-Ukraine Cross-Border Co-operation Programme seeks to foster cross border tourism between the neighbouring regions of Ukraine and Romania.
