Ukraine discusses possible FP7 Space project collaboration

Space experts from Ukraine and France are currently meeting to discuss potential cooperation within the EU 7th Framework Programme on Research and Technology Development (FP7). This follows the recent Commission announcement of a new FP7 Call for Proposals on 20 July.

The FP7 Space theme aims to support applications such as Global monitoring for environment and security (GMES). Over € 1.4 billion in funding has been earmarked for the Space theme over the duration of FP7.
The aim of the two-day meeting is to build up International Research Consortia to participate in this new FP7 Call. The CEA (French Atomic Energy Commission) has expressed an interest in participating with its Ukrainian counterparts in FP7 Space.
The meeting has been organised by the EU-funded project Joint Support Office for Enhancing Ukraine’s Integration into the European Research Area (JSO-ERA), in cooperation with the National Space Agency of Ukraine and the FP7 Space National Contact Point of Ukraine. The JSO-ERA Project’s main objective is to facilitate effective FP7 cooperation between Ukraine’s research communities, involved in innovation and research, and potential ERA partner organisations.
FP7 is intended for research scientists, institutes & SMEs working together in international consortia. Ukraine heading towards FP7 association has tremendous opportunities in research, technology and innovation.  (ENPI Info Centre)
