EU programme targets improved public participation in forestry management in Ukraine

The EU-funded forestry protection programme ENPI-FLEG is hosting a workshop in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on improvement of access to information and effective public participation in forestry management.
Representatives of state authorities, NGOs, enterprises, local communities and mass media are invited to take part in the workshop, which will be held on 24 September, 2010 at the National University of Life and Environmental Science of Ukraine.
Registration deadline is September 20.
The €6 million ENPI Forest Law Enforcement and Governance (FLEG) programme supports governments, civil society and the private sector in the development of sound and sustainable forest management practices, including the prevention of illegal forestry activities. (ENPI Info Centre)
