The Association Agreement between the European Union and Egypt, forming the legal basis of the EU-Egypt relationship and entered into force in June 2004. This bilateral agreement replaces earlier cooperation agreements between the European Union and Egypt, and constitutes the framework for EU-Egypt political, economic, social, scientific and cultural cooperation within the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership.
