This portal is one of the main communication tools of the ENPI Information and Communication Support Project, launched by the European Commission in January 2009 to make more known the relationship between the EU, its nine partner countries in the Mediterranean and seven neighbours and partners in the East. It follows on from the EuroMed Info Centre, a similar project focusing only on the Mediterranean partner countries, which lasted from October 2005 to January 2009.
The contract for the ENPI Information and Communication Support Project was awarded to Cyprus-based Action Global Communications, an independent Public Relations Agency Network, in a consortium with the Italian news agency ANSA, which also maintains ANSAmed, a special portal dedicated to the Mediterranean, and the Cyprus News Agency, which is in a strategic partnership with the Moscow-based news agency ITAR-TASS.
Action Global Communications focuses on the world's most promising and emerging markets and important political and economic centres. It has offices in more than 40 countries in Central & Eastern Europe, Russia, the CIS Countries, Central Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and the Levant. Through these offices, the project is present in all the countries of the ENP. Action also has an office in Brussels.
The ENPI Info Centre produces material illustrating the work done in the partner countries by the projects funded through EuropeAid’s regional programmes.
This ranges from feature stories, interviews and photos, giving the view of the people who have benefited and a flavour of cooperation on the ground, to Q&As and background memos simplifying polices and listing available information sources.
This material can be used freely, as long as the source “ENPI Info Centre/EC” is credited.
We deal with requests from EU Headquarters and Delegations and others interested in the Partnership, and we support journalists as well as Regional Programme-funded project managers seeking to disseminate information on their work.
The Project also produces material, including feature stories in English, French, Arabic and Russian, from each of the Partner Countries, that can be found by clicking here for the South and here for the East.
