Extra funding for EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia

The EU has increased its funding to the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia by €2.1 million.

The Agriculture and Fisheries Council adopted a Joint Action concerning the EUMM Georgia, amending Joint Action 2008/736 by increasing the financial reference amount to €37.1 million.

The EUMM was established in September 2008 following the conflict between Georgia and Russia. Its mandate is to monitor the implementation of the Agreements of August 12 and September 8, in particular the withdrawal of Russian and Georgian armed forces to the positions held prior to the outbreak of hostilities
