Forecast for €3 million TRACECA project - maritime safety and security II

The European Commission has published a forecast for a €3 million service contract for the ENPI — TRACECA — maritime safety and security IIproject for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan; Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey. The publication reference of the forecast is EuropeAid/133051/C/SER/MULTI.

According to the forecast, the overall objective of this technical assistance project is to help make shipping safer, more secure and environmentally friendly, thus promoting the further alignment of the maritime safety and security legislation with the relevant EU 'acquis' in the field and especially with the EU's third maritime safety package.
 The project will aim to
  • support the further ratification and implementation of international maritime safety and security conventions;
  • improve the quality of maritime administrations in the Black and Caspian Seas partner countries.

Despite being a regional project, the programme should focus also on specific needs at national level of each partner country.
The maximum budget for the contract is €3 million.
The project will build on the work of the TRACECA SASEPOL project, which ran from 2009-2011. (EU Neighbourhood Info )
