Introducing customs officers from Ukraine and Moldova to EU best practices: EUBAM supports study visit to the Netherlands

Eleven custom officers from the State Service of Ukraine and the Customs Service of Moldova will be accompanied by EUBAM’s Analysis Cell on a study visit to the Netherlands this week. This initiative is part of EUBAM’s ongoing policy of exposing officers from the border guard and customs services in both countries to EU best practices through visits to strategic partners in the EU member states.
The Customs Administration of the Netherlands is hosting the EUBAM party for the major part of the study visit, which will focus on risk management techniques and principles for customs officers. In addition to presentations on vital risk-management components such as risk indicators, risk analysis and risk selection, the visit will also incorporate briefings by customs experts at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport and Rotterdam port, one of the busiest cargo ports in the world.
The EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) contributes to the delivery of good quality border and customs services to the citizens and companies of Moldova, Ukraine and the European Union. Together with border guard and customs services of Moldova and Ukraine the Mission facilitates people-to-people contacts, legitimate trade and security. (ENPI Info Centre)
