Head of EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia meets top officials in Russia

The Head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM), Ambassador Andrzej Tyszkiewicz, has made a three-day visit to Moscow with the aim of establishing contacts with his Russian counterparts, reiterating his support for the Geneva talks, and discussing a number of issues relating to the work of the EUMM and the situation on the ground.

During his 23-25 November visit, Ambassador Tyszkiewicz met with Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Grigory Karasin, and representatives of the Foreign Ministry, the Border Service and the Ministry of Defence.
 
During the meetings, participants expressed their appreciation for the role and work of the Mission, and their intention to give relevant consideration to the issues raised by the EUMM. (ENPI Info Centre)
