Over 6 million Euros for cross-border projects in Ukraine, Belarus and Poland

The Ministry of Regional Development of Poland is seeking projects with a positive cross-border impact in the eligible areas of Poland, Belarus and Ukraine under a call of for proposals launched by the Poland-Belarus-Ukraine Cross-Border Cooperation Programme.
The call targets projects under two main priorities:
· Networking and people to people cooperation
· Local communities’ initiatives
The objective of these priorities is the social, scientific, educational and cultural integration of the border area. Therefore the money is intended to give support to the citizens’ cross-border contacts and social initiatives, scientific and educational cooperation, touristic, cultural and sporting events. Projects aimed at the promotion and cultivation of the common traditions of the borderland areas will also be eligible for assistance.
Eligible applicants are, among others non-governmental organisations, public sector operators, local authorities, bodies governed by public law, and inter-governmental organizations.
The budget available under this call for proposals stands at €6.65 million. Any grant awarded will fall between a minimum of €225,000 and a maximum of €900,000.
The deadline for applications is 14 June, 2012.
The Poland-Belarus-Ukraine (2007-2013) ENPI CBC Programme is being implemented in the frame of the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) and extends the cooperation in the border areas of the three countries. It focuses on the increasing competitiveness and improving the quality of life within the programme area by supporting entrepreneurship and developing the main transport and environmental infrastructure. The Programme also supports local initiatives between the
