New publication describes EuropeAid activities in Belarus

A new publication setting out information on EU-funded activities in Belarus is now available online in English. Produced by the EU Delegation in Belarus, the publication provides a comprehensive overview of DG EuropeAid actions and key agreements, strategic documents and policy initiatives. The overview includes programmes and projects taking place at regional and bilateral levels. It is divided up into two sections: good governance & people-to-people contacts and socioeconomic development & economic modernisation.

The first section contains a summary of activities, their duration and budget information. It covers major areas of cooperation such as border management and customs, capacity and institution building for public administration, combating human trafficking, drugs and crime, human rights, migration & asylum, culture, education & youth, science, technology and the information society.

The second section focuses on projects in the fields of agriculture, energy, the environment and sustainable development.

The publication also provides information about two major EU-run initiatives that Belarus is part of - the Eastern Partnership and the Northern Dimension - as well as the thematic platforms that are managed under them.

The last section provides a list of key documents and strategic agreements and explains the main policies that Belarus and the EU are part of. (EU Neighbourhood Info)
