Training seminar on energy efficiency held in Ukraine

The EU-funded INOGATE project 'Energy Saving Initiative in the Building Sector (ESIB)' last week held a training seminar as part of its technical assistance to ten municipalities of the EU’s Small Cities Project, in Golaya Pristan, a municipality of the oblast of Kherson, in Ukraine.

Golaya Pristan is one of ten cities in Ukraine taking part in the project, whose aim is to increase the energy efficiency of municipal buildings and simultaneously to improve the quality of services, reduce energy expenses, increase energy security and contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions.

“In particular, with the help of modern energy saving technologies to be applied in two kindergartens, heat and energy consumption will be considerably reduced,” said ESIB in a press release.

The seminar focused on energy audit and technical capacity building, financing schemes for selected energy efficiency measures as well as the prospects for sharing experience and disseminating information about project achievements in each of the participating cities.

INOGATE is an EU-funded programme promoting international energy co-operation between the European Union and the Partner Countries of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
