Van Rompuy starts three-day visit to the South Caucasus

EU-Armenia relations, the internal political situation and regional issues will be on the agenda of meetings President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy is due to have in Armenia, in the first leg of his three-day official visit to the South Caucasus starting tomorrow.

A press release said that in Yerevan, Van Rompuy would meet Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hovik Abrahamyan. He will also address the National Assembly and make an opening address to the Civil Society Forum "Armenia in Europe."
 
On 4 July, President Van Rompuy travels to Georgia, where he will meet President Mikheil Saakashvili, and the next day to Azerbaijan for talks with President Ilham Aliyev.  (EU Neighbourhood Info)
