More and more Moldovans describe relations between their country and the EU as very or fairly good, while the number of respondents who say that their country has benefited from the EU’s current policies has also increased. These were just some of the findings to emerge in the third in a series of polls carried out at six-month intervals between December 2009 and November 2010. The results are part of the EU-funded Opinion Polling and Research (OPPOL) project, funded under the 2007-2010 European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) regional information and communication programme.
Among other findings, the latest poll found that more Moldovansnow feel that the EU is an important partner of Moldova compared to six months ago, while the number of Moldovans who agree that the EU could bring peace and stability in the region has also gone up in the space of half a year. Most Moldovans would prefer the EU to play a greater role in economic development, democracy and trade.
