EU-funded programme promotes urban waste management in Alexandria

Alexandria was the first city in Egypt to welcome the Mediterranean Urban Waste Management Programme, part of the Short and Medium-term Priority Environmental Action Programme (SMAP I). This joint programme is a key element of the EuroMed Partnership by which the European Union and the countries of the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean work together to protect the environment.
