Anna Lindh and EMUNI to hold Euromed Research Souk

The EU-funded Anna Lindh Foundation and the Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) are cooperating for the second year in the organization of a Euro-Mediterranean Student Research ‘Multi-Conference’.
An announcement said the title of this year’s conference, taking place on 14 June 2010, was ‘Living Together in the Multi-cultural Society’. During the conference, participants will present their projects on the Union for the Mediterranean’s priorities. A press release said the Euromed Research Souk was a ‘multi-conference’, implemented simultaneously at EMUNI partners in different countries of the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Academic institutions interested in organising a conference on 14 June in their own country are invited to express their interest by filling in the online registration form before 28 February 2010. A second call for paper/project will be launched on 10 March 2010 on EMUNI’s website.
EMUNI and the EuropeAid Co-operation Office have signed a €1 million contract on financing. The funds are allocated to EMUNI for the development and implementation of projects in relation to the priority areas of the Union of the Mediterranean. The activities covered from this source will involve the preparation of eight Master’s study programmes, the establishment of a Higher Education Observatory and dissemination of results, such as conferences, EMUNI regional days and publications.
The Anna Lindh Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures is a €7 million EU-funded project which aims at bringing people and organisations of the region closer and promoting dialogue, by offering them opportunities to work together on projects in the fields of culture, education, science, human rights, sustainable development, the empowerment of women and the arts. The Foundation is the first institution to be jointly created and co-financed by all member countries of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. (ENPI Info Centre)
