EU project offers Palestinian film-makers opportunity to produce short films

“I am a Woman from Palestine”, a project funded by the EU and implemented by the Palestinian NGO Shashat, has launched a call for proposals for Palestinian women directors with projects of short films about women.
 
The call is open to female Palestinian film-makers; having produced three video works of which one at least was displayed in an international festival. Films may be a drama or documentary of ten to twenty minutes long.
 
The EU also funds the Euromed Audiovisual III programme which aims to contribute to the development and strengthening of the capacity of the film sector in the ENPI South region (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Occupied Palestinian Territory, Syria, Tunisia) and to contribute significantly to mutual understanding, intercultural dialogue and cultural diversity, in line with the "Strategy for the Development of Euro-Mediterranean Audiovisual Cooperation", approved by Euromed culture ministers in Athens in May 2008.
