Promoting cultural activities: EU launches call for proposals in Tunisia

The EU Delegation to Tunisia has launched a call for proposals in the framework of its support to cultural projects in Tunisia with a budget of 120 000 Euros, under the reference EuropeAid/132936/L/ACT/TN.

The objectives of the call are:

- To further involve the cultural players in the Euro-Mediterranean partnership and contribute to the promotion of the common cultural space by facilitating contacts between Tunisian and European artists or cultural organizations.

- To stimulate the access of Tunisians to their own culture, especially in the interior regions of Tunisia, and to income-generating activities through the dissemination of cultural and traditional heritage.

- To promote the conservation and dissemination of cultural diversity at local and national levels, reinforcing artistic and technical local skills in the field of performing arts and the capacity of artistic operators to deal with administrative and financial management of long-term cultural and artistic projects.

- To promote intercultural dialogue at all the levels as well as South-South cooperation, respecting cultural diversity, gender equality, religion and ethnic affiliation.

An information day to explain the procedures and modalities of how to present the proposals will be held on 14 May at 10:00 a.m. at the EU Delegation headquarters in Tunis. The deadline for receipt of applications is 15 June 2012 at 04:00 p.m.
