Euromed Youth newsletter: On the way to next year’s challenges
03-08-2012
More than 800 participants from about 600 NGOs have benefited from 27 information and training sessions on how to apply for a grant project, organised by the EU-funded Euromed Youth IV programme, in Tunisia, the Palestinian territories, Jordan, Israel and Egypt, since the beginning of 2011, according to the second edition of the programme’s newsletter.
The publication says that 170 proposals have been submitted under the four calls launched. Nine projects have been contracted under the programme’s Action 1 (Euro-Med Youth Exchanges), three under Action 2 (Euro-Med Youth Voluntary Service), and eight under Action 3 (EuroMed Youth Support Measures).
The newsletter includes an article about a week of activities that took place in Tunisia from 25 June to 1 July 2012, around the theme of youth work and youth policy in the wake of the Arab Spring. The study visit brought together participants from Euromed Youth programme countries and from EU member states.
The online newsletter also features upcoming events in the framework of the Euromed Youth IV programme.
The €5million EU-funded EuroMed Youth IV programme (2010-2013) aims at stimulating and encouraging mutual comprehension among youth in the Euro-Mediterranean region, fighting stereotypes and prejudices and enhancing the sense of solidarity among youth by promoting active citizenship. It also seeks to contribute to the development of youth policies in the Mediterranean Partner Countries. (EU Neighbourhood Info)
