FEMIP Financing operations in Israel

FEMIP, the European Investment Bank’s Facility for Euro-Mediterranean Investment and Partnership, is the key player in the financial partnership between Europe and the Mediterranean, providing EUR 13 billion of finance between its inception in October 2002 and December 2011.

As the European Union’s financing institution, the European Investment Bank (EIB) has provided finance amounting to more than EUR 884 million to Israel since 1981. Three areas have been targeted: support for the private sector, drinking water and environmental protection. Israel has also received three loans under the Risk Sharing Finance Facility (RSFF) for financing innovation activities.
