Une bonne recette pour l’agriculture ? Des chouettes plutôt que des pesticides

Au début d’un nouveau programme d’aide aux agriculteurs palestiniens de la vallée du Jourdain, l’Union européenne et son partenaire ont dû surmonter une barrière culturelle. Comment les chouettes peuvent-elles donc apporter quelque chose de positif à l’agriculture ? Dans la culture arabe, cet animal est en effet symbole de perte et de ruine. Mais au fil du temps, les premiers résultats sont apparus. Éloquents. Et les agriculteurs commencent à être convaincus que cet oiseau peut constituer une excellente alternative aux pesticides chimiques.
 
Parallèlement, en travaillant ensemble dans le cadre de ce projet, des organisations jordaniennes, palestiniennes et israéliennes encouragent une culture favorisant la compréhension et le dialogue dans cette région troublée.
