European Economic and Social Committee to visit Lebanon on 6 and 7 October

The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), the body representing European civil society, will be visiting Lebanon on 6 and 7 October, with a view to promoting a joint reflection on the possibility of advancing social and civil dialogue in the country. To that end, the Committee will meet with Ministers, the President of the Economic and Social Council, trade unions, in addition to representatives of socio-professional and non-governmental organizations.

These meetings will serve as an opportunity to invite the key protagonists in this process to the 2011 Euro-Mediterannean Summit of Economic and Social Councils and similar institutions, which will be held in Istanbul (Turkey) from 16 to 18 November.(ENPI Info Centre)
