Israelis and Palestinians working together to save children’s lives: EU Delegation launches photography exhibition

A joint Israeli-Palestinian photography exhibition, funded within the framework of the European Union’s Partnership for Peace programme, opened last night at the Arab Jewish Community in Jaffa, with a view to depicting the story of Palestinian children suffering from heart disease and showcasing the ongoing cooperation between the Palestinian and Israeli physicians working together in order to save children’s lives.
 
The opening of the exhibition, produced under Save a Child’s ‘Heart of the Matter’ Programme, was attended by Andrew Standley, the European Union Ambassador to Israel, as well as four photographers, including two Palestinians and two Israelis, who documented the Heart of the Matter project in Israel and Palestine. Among the other participants who were expected to attend were doctors, volunteers and Save a Child’s Heart children.
 
The exhibition will be displayed in Jaffa and in Nablus, and will serve as a tangible expression of the hope for a peaceful future, generating a more positive opinion of the "other" among both Palestinians and Israelis.(ENPI Info Centre).
