Catherine Ashton condamne la mort de plusieurs journalistes en Syrie

La chef de la diplomatie européenne, Catherine Ashton, a condamné l’attaque ayant provoqué la mort de la journaliste du Sunday Times Marie Colvin, du photographe Rémi Ochlik et d'autres victimes, à Homs, en Syrie, ainsi que le décès du journaliste syrien Ramy alSayed. Elle a demandé à l'armée syrienne de mettre immédiatement fin à ces tueries et de se retirer des villes et villages assiégés.
La Haute représentante a exprimé ses « sincères condoléances aux familles et aux proches de Mme Colvin, de M. Ochilk et de toutes les victimes des terribles bombardements et tirs de roquettes incessants », peut-on lire dans une déclaration publiée par son porte-parole.
« Il faut garantir la liberté d’expression et, pour ce faire, la presse doit être autorisée à jouer son rôle crucial en communiquant des informations indépendantes sur les événements qui se déroulent en Syrie, sans craindre les violences ou la répression. »(ENPI Info Centre)
