11th FEMIP Conference on sustainable tourism postponed to next October
19-04-2012
The 11th FEMIP Conference, initially planned to take place on 26 April in Jordan, has been postponed and will be held on 25 October 2012. The Conference will focus on the means to promote sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean and meeting people’s expectations in terms of job creation and long-term development in the aftermath of the Arab Spring.
The conference addresses tourism professionals, policy makers, tour operators, hotel and tourism associations, airlines, travel agencies as well as representatives from the banking sectors. Conference participation is free and upon invitation only. Interested parties can use the attached formto apply for an invitation.
Since its creation in 2002, FEMIP has been involving the Mediterranean partner countries in its lending policy guidelines through constructive discussions on economic, financial and sectoral matters. This is now a three-way dialogue involving the FEMIP Ministerial Meeting, the FEMIP Committee and the FEMIP Conferences, held on both sides of the Mediterranean shores.
The European Investment Bank (EIB) is the EU’s financing institution and the leading financial investor in the Mediterranean region through FEMIP (the Facility for Euro-Mediterranean Investment and Partnership), which was set up in 2002. (ENPI Info Centre)
