Raising environmental awareness in the Mediterranean: CBCMed project to set editorial framework for production of docu-mags

The “Joussour” audiovisual cooperation project, funded by the European Union under the Cross-Border Cooperation Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme and managed by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia (Italy), which aims to raise awareness of environmental challenges in cross-border regions of the Mediterranean, is holding its first co-production workshop from 25 to 28 January in Tunis.

A press release said this first workshop would focus on the editorial line of the series of docu-mags to be co-produced by the project and on the identification of the most relevant projects developed in the eligible territories of the CBC MED Programme and which will be treated in the documags. Format, style, target audiences of the products as well as the co-production timetable will be also defined.

The selected film directors will be supervised by the technical team of the project, composed of three executive producers appointed by the consortium, and by one environmental expert.

The themes of the series are renewable energies, water resources, biological diversity, recycling, environmental education, green economy and biological agriculture.

JOUSSOUR, funded with a budget of €497,044, is an innovative project which will undertake the co-production of 12 docu-mags realized by young professionals and aimed at encouraging their mobility as well as the exchange of knowhow within the Euro-Mediterranean region. The series will be conceived for television and the web and will aim at strengthening audiovisual cooperation as well as informing the general public about the environmental challenges in the Mediterranean cross-border regions.
