A Tempus study

The present report is a first attempt to describe the implementation of the Bologna Process in the Southern Mediterranean countries participating in the Tempus programme.

The results show the attractiveness of the Bologna concepts and tools, in particular in the Maghreb region, and the indisputable efforts made by the Mediterranean countries to come closer to the European Higher Education Area. Since 2002, numerous pilot initiatives have been launched under the Tempus programme, which has undoubtedly become a major instrument to promote the Bologna Process in this region.
